NEW DELHI – Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman would chair a meeting Friday evening to review the cybersecurity preparedness of banks and financial isntitutions, the government said. The participants of the meeting are likely to include officials from finance ministry's Department of Financial Services.
The meeting comes in light of recent escalation in tensions between New Delhi and Islamabad. Pakistan armed forces launched multiple attacks using drones and other munitions along the entire western border on the intervening night of Thursday and Friday.
Indian armed forces had on Thursday targeted air defence radars and systems at a number of locations in Pakistan and neutralised at least one air defence system in Lahore. Tensions between the neighboring nations have flared up in the last two weeks after the terrorist attack in Pahalgam that claimed 26 lives. End I
