Andhra Pradesh govt invites tenders for INR-47-bln new secretariat complex

HYDERABAD - The Andhra Pradesh government has invited three tenders to build a grand secretariat complex, worth INR 46.87 billion, at Amaravati, according to a notification issued by the Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority.

 

The state government, which is in war mode to develop a greenfield capital city, is planning to build five towers for an integrated state secretariat and offices for various department heads, the notification read. As per the notification, the estimated cost of general administration tower, which will be an iconic tower for the capital region and office of the chief minister, is INR 11.26 billion. The estimated cost of tower 1 and tower 2 is INR 18.97 billion. The estimated cost of tower 3 and tower 4 is INR 16.64 billion.

 

Infrastructure majors such as Larsen & Toubro Ltd., NCC Ltd. and Shapoorji Pallonji Group are expected to compete for the tenders, a senior official told Informist.

 

The Andhra Pradesh government has set a deadline to build the greenfield capital city at Amaravati within three years. It has issued letters of award worth over INR 380 billion in recent months for several infrastructure development works.

 

The last date to submit tenders for the construction of the secretariat is May 1 and these will be opened on the same day, according to the notification.
