NEW DELHI – The Securities and Exchange Board of India Friday issued draft circulars proposing tweaks and enhancements of the current investor charters for research analysts, investment advisers, and registrars to an issue and share transfer agents. These draft circulars are open for public comments till May 2.
The stock market regulator said the proposals, if converted into a final circular, would "enhance financial consumer protection alongside enhanced financial inclusion and financial literacy, and in view of the recent developments in the securities market including introduction of Online Dispute Resolution platform and SCORES 2.0."
SEBI had issued the charter on registrars and transfer agents in November 2021 with a view to facilitate investor awareness about various activities which an investor deals with while availing the services provided by research analyst. The markets regulator had issued similar charters on research analysts, and investment advisers, in December 2021. End
