No norms for bks' credit-deposit ratio, asset-liability mgmt key

--RBI Malhotra: Don't have any prescription for credit-deposit ratio
MUMBAI – The Reserve Bank of India does not have any regulation or prescription for the credit-deposit ratio of banks, RBI Governor Sanjay Malhotra said at the post-policy press conference on Wednesday. It is up to banks to decide on this, he said.
"We do not have any such prescription for CD ratio, banks have to be mindful of their asset-liability management. They need to ensure that they have liquidity in the short term and sufficent over medium to long term so that there are no mismatches," Malhotra said. End
