MUMBAI – Gold stocks held in the London Bullion Market Association's commercial vaults and by the Bank of England rose by 11 tonnes, or 0.1%, on month to 8,488 tonnes in March, the association said Monday. The value of gold held was $850.1 billion, equal to around 679,068 gold bars, it said.

Silver stocks held in the association's vaults declined by 335 tonnes, or 1.5%, on month to 22,127 tonnes last month. The value of silver held was $24.2 billion, equal to around 737,563 silver bars. The association said silver outflows were about 70% lower in March compared to February. The Bank of England does not hold any silver holding.

"While (gold) stocks in the Bank of England declined by a similar pace to that seen in February, gold stocks in London's commercial vaults in fact increased again this month," the association said. This again highlights that gold is moving from the Bank of England into the Loco London system. End
