Hero MotoCorp Mar total sales rise 12% on year; highest in 5 months

MUMBAI - Hero MotoCorp Ltd. said its total dispatches in March were 549,604 units, up 12% on year. This was the highest number of motorcycles and scooters sold in five months by the company. In February the sales saw an over 17?cline. Total sales in March rose nearly 42% on a sequential basis, the company said Wednesday.

 

The company's domestic sales were 510,086 units in March, up 11% on year. In February, the company saw a 13% year-on-year decline in domestic sales. The company exported 39,518 units in March, up 27% on year--its highest-ever monthly global dispatches.

 

Hero MotoCorp's motorcycle sales for the month rose 11% on year to 506,641 units, it said in an exchange filing. Its motorcycle sales in February had fallen 19% on year. The company sold 42,963 units of scooters, up 27.5% on year, last month. In the just ended financial year, the company sold a total of 5.90 million units, up 5% on year, while its sales in global markets rose 43% in 2024-25 (Apr-Mar) to 287,492 units. 

 

Hero MotoCorp recorded an around 200% year-on-year rise in sales in its electric vehicle segment, the highest ever sales in this category. Sales for the company's electric vehicle brand VIDA rose to 7,787 units in March from 6,669 units sold a month ago.

 

The automobile manufacturer dispatched over 58,000 units of VIDA electric scooters in FY25. It sold more than 11,000 units of the HarleyDavidson X440 in FY25, maintaining its position in the premium motorcycle segment. The company has set up over 80 Premia dealerships across the country till date to make its premium portfolio more accessible. It has also expanded its Hero 2.0 network to 930 outlets, it said.

 

In March, Hero MotoCorp had said it will make a strategic investment in the electric three-wheeler category by acquiring a significant stake in Euler Motors. The company's board has approved a strategic investment of up to INR 5.25 billion in Euler Motors Pvt. Ltd, it said. 

 

Hero MotoCorp had reported a net profit of INR 12.03 billion for the December quarter on a revenue of INR 102.11 billion. On Wednesday, shares of the company ended at INR 3,783.95 on the National Stock Exchange, up 0.6%.  End
