Govt appoints Deputy CAG Sivasubramanian Ramann as new PFRDA chairperson

NEW DELHI – The government has appointed Deputy Comptroller and Auditor General Sivasubramanian Ramann as the chairperson of the Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority, a government notification dated Tuesday said. Ramann will assume office once Chairperson Deepak Mohanty's term ends on May 31. 

 

The appointment is for five years with effect from the date of assumption of charge of the post or till he attains the age of 65 years, or until further orders, whichever is the earliest, the notification said. 

 

Sivasubramanian Ramann is a 1991-batch Indian Audit & Accounts Service officer. He was previously the chairman and managing director of Small Industries Development Bank of India and before joining SIDBI, he was managing director and chief executive officer of National E-Governance Services Ltd. Ramann has also worked in the Securities and Exchange Board of India.

 

PFRDA had invited applications for the position of chairperson in late November, along with applications for two whole-time members.   End
