NEW DELHI - Maruti Suzuki India Ltd., the country's top passenger vehicle-maker, saw its despatches grow in single digits for the third consecutive month in March, dragged by continued weakness in the passenger car segment due to Indians' increasing preference for utility vehicles, according to an exchange filing on Tuesday. The company despatched 192,984 units to dealerships in India and abroad, at a growth of 3.1% on year. In 2024-25 (Apr-Mar), the company sold 2.23 million units, up 4.6% from the year-ago period. Total domestic sales by Maruti Suzuki in March were 160,016 units, down 0.8% on year. In FY25, the company's total domestic sales grew 4.6% on year to 1.90 million units.

This achievement once again cemented our position as India's number 1 passenger vehicle exporter," said Hisashi Takeuchi, the managing director and chief executive officer of Maruti Suzuki. The company currently exports around 17 models to 100 countries.
