UPI transactions hit record high of INR 24.8 tln in Mar, rise 30% in FY25

NEW DELHI – Unified Payments Interface transactions jumped to a record high of 18.30 billion in March, up 36% on year, according to National Payments Corp. of India data. The value of UPI transactions in March increased 25% on year to INR 24.77 trillion, also a record high.

 

For 2024-25 (Apr-Mar), INR 260.47 trillion worth of UPI transactions were recorded, 30.4% higher than FY24. In February, 16.11 billion UPI transactions were recorded with a total value of INR 21.96 trillion. 

 

The average daily transaction count was 590 million last month, higher than the 575 million daily transactions recorded in February. The average daily transaction amount was INR 799.10 billion in March, against INR 784.46 billion in February, data showed.  End
