Sanjay Kumar Mishra appointed full-time member of PM's econ advisory panel

NEW DELHI – The government has appointed Sanjay Kumar Mishra, former chief of the Enforcement Directorate, as a full-time member of the Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister, according to a government order dated Tuesday. Mishra has been appointed "in the rank of the Secretary to the Government of India", the order said.
A 1984 batch Indian Revenue Service officer from Uttar Pradesh, Mishra was appointed as the Enforcement Directorate chief in November 2018 for a tenure of two years initially, but this was later extended. Before his appointment, Mishra was posted as chief commissioner of income tax in Delhi.
Besides Mishra, the other full-time members in the economic advisory panel are Sanjeev Sanyal and Shamika Ravi. The part-time members of the panel are Rakesh Mohan, Sajjid Chinoy, Neelkanth Mishra, Nilesh Shah, T.T. Ram Mohan, and Poonam Gupta.
The Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister, or EAC-PM, is an independent body constituted to give advice on economic and related matters to the government. Suman Bery was appointed as the chairman of the council in December following the demise of Bibek Debroy, who headed the institution for nearly seven years from September 2017 till November 2024. End
