NEW DELHI – The government is looking to make Goods and Services Tax e-invoices received from the GST Network on the Directorate General of Foreign Trade's back office portal mandatory for claiming deemed export benefits under the foreign trade policy, the commerce ministry said in a notification Tuesday. The ministry has invited comments from exporters, importers, and industry associations on the proposal by Apr. 2.

"This proposal aims to enhance transparency, streamline processes and ensure better compliance with the regulatory framework," the ministry said.

The ministry said that an intergration process is currently underway between the Directorate General of Foreign Trade and the GST Network for seamless data exchange between the two organisations.  End
