Govt appoints former cabinet secretary Rajiv Gauba as NITI Aayog member

NEW DELHI - The government has appointed former cabinet secretary Rajiv Gauba as a full-time member at NITI Aayog, the cabinet secretariat said in a notification on Tuesday. The NITI Aayog currently has four full-time members--Vijay Kumar Saraswat, Ramesh Chand, Vinod Kumar Paul, and Arvind Virmani.
Gauba is a 1982 batch Jharkhand-cadre Indian Administrative Service officer, and was the cabinet secretary between 2019 and 2024. Before being appointed the cabinet secretary in 2019, Gauba served as the Union home secretary. He had also served as secretary in the urban development ministry, and as additional secretary in the home ministry. End
