CDSL arm partners with LIC to provide insurance repository services

--CDSL arm in pact with LIC to provide insurance repository services
MUMBAI – Central Depository Services (India) Ltd. Thursday said its subsidiary Centrico Insurance Repository Ltd., formerly known as CDSL Insurance Repository Ltd., has entered into a pact with Life Insurance Corp. of India to provide insurance repository services. According to the pact, Centrico Insurance Repository will provide insurance repository services to LIC, CDSL said in an exchange filing.
LIC holds 4.4% of the shareholding in CDSL and 8.3% in Centrico Insurance Repository. Centrico Insurance Repository currently has partnerships with 43 insurance companies, including 23 life insurance companies, to provide insurance repository services for policyholders.
CDSL's consolidated net profit for the December quarter rose 21.1% year-on-year to INR 1.30 billion. Shares of CDSL Thursday ended 0.3% lower at INR 1,170.30 on the National Stock Exchange, while those of LIC ended 0.4% higher at INR 779.50. End
