--Source: Andhra govt allots 10 acre land to L&T for IT tower in Amaravati

HYDERABAD - Andhra Pradesh government on Wednesday allotted 10 acres land to Larsen & Toubro Ltd. to build an information technology tower at upcoming greenfield capital Amaravati, a senior government official told Informist.

 

The Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority, the nodal agency for development of the capital city and which works under state municipal administration department, has issued orders allocating the land parcel to the infrastructure and construction major, the official said. The allocation was made after a panel headed by group of ministers in the government recommended it, the official said.

 

Though the investment details of the proposed tower is not yet disclosed, the proposed building is aimed to attract the information technology and software companies to the new city, the official said. Earlier, L&T had developed an IT Tower in Vijayawada.

 

Besides L&T, the state agency also issued orders allocating 70 acres land to Birla Institute of Technology and Sciences campus. On Wednesday, shares of Larsen & Toubro closed at INR 3,319.55 on the National Stock Exchange, up 1.5% from their previous close.  End
