Govt imposes anti-dumping duty on soft ferrite cores imports from China

NEW DELHI – The government has imposed anti-dumpting duty on imports of Chineses soft ferrite cores, magnetic materials used in electronics, the finance ministry said in a notification late on Tuesday. The duty is effective for five years.
The government will levy a duty of 31% on the cost, insurance and freight value, or assessable value, of the import of soft ferrite cores from China and produced by Huzhou Haotong Electronic Technology Co. Ltd. A duty of 35% on the assessable value will be imposed on the import of soft ferrite cores from other Chinese producers.
No anti-dumping duty will be imposed on imports from Yibin Jinchuan Electronics Co. Ltd. and Hengdian Group DMEGC Magnetics Co. Ltd., the notification said.
In December, the commerce ministry's Directorate General of Trade Remedies had recommended imposition of anti-dumping duty on imports of soft ferrite cores originating in or exported from China to address injury to the domestic industry. End
