New Zealand FTA to aid trade grow 10-fold in a decade, says Minister Goyal

NEW DELHI – India's free trade agreement with New Zealand is likely to help the bilateral trade grow 10 times within a decade, Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal said on Tuesday. The two sides on Sunday re-iniated talks for a trade pact after a break of 10 years.
Both the countries would come out as winners in this partnership, Goyal said at India-New Zealand Chief Executive Officers Roundatble organised by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry. In 2015, India and New Zealand had halted trade talks because of disagreements over market access and trade priorities.
The trade between India and new Zealand surpassed $1 billion in Apr-Jan, Goyal had said on Sunday while announing the restrat of trade talks. In 2023-24 (Apr-Mar), the bilateral trade between the nations was $873.4 million, that included Indian exports worth $538.3 million and $335.1 million of imports. End
