Centre meets FY25 target for transfers to states as share in taxes

--Govt: Released INR 12.87 tln to states as share of taxes Apr 1-Mar 10


NEW DELHI – The central government has released INR 12.87 trillion to states as their share of taxes between Apr. 1 and Mar. 10, Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary Monday said in a written reply to the Lok Sabha. At INR 12.87 trillion, the Centre has already met the revised Budget estimate of devolution of states' share in taxes for FY25.

 

The Centre had released INR 11.29 trillion to states as share of taxes in the entire 2023-24 (Apr-Mar). The 15th Finance Commission has recommended sharing 41% of central taxes with states. Typically, the devolution is released to states in 14 equal instalments.  End
