Govt Apr-Feb gross corporate tax collection INR 10.20 tln

NEW DELHI – The government collected gross corporate taxes of INR 10.20 trillion during Apr-Feb, Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary said in reply to a question in Rajya Sabha on Tuesday. Out of the total, INR 4.40 trillion was collected in Maharashtra while INR 1.25 trillion was collected in Delhi, he said. The minister, however, did not give comparative collection figure from last year.

 

According to the latest government data released in February, Centre's direct tax collection, net of refunds, rose 14.7% on year to INR 17.78 trillion during the period from Apr. 1 to Feb. 10. Of the total, corporate tax collections grew 6.1% on year to INR 7.79 trillion and non-corporate tax collections rose 20.9% to INR 9.48 trillion, finance ministry had said in February.

 

The Budget for 2025-26 (Apr-Mar) has revised the estimate for total tax collections in the current financial year to INR 38.54 trillion from INR 38.40 trillion earlier. Of the revised target, the government aims to collect INR 9.80 trillion as corporation tax and INR 12.57 trillion as personal income tax.  End
