NEW DELHI – Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will table the second batch of Supplementary Demands for Grants for 2024-25 (Apr-Mar) in Parliament on Monday, the business agenda of both the houses said. The second leg of the Budget Session, will start on Monday after a near month-long recess, and end in the first week of April.
As per earlier media reports, the government is likely to seek additional funds for the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme in the second batch of supplementary demands for grants for FY25.
This is due to higher-than-expected demand for work as expenditure under MGNREG scheme has reached the available funds, with INR 829.63 billion already disbursed from the approved outlay of INR 860.00 billion for FY25. End
