Non-bank payment operators, fintechs must innovate responsibly, says RBI Malhotra

MUMBAI – Reserve Bank of India Governor Sanjay Malhotra in a meeting with non-bank payment operators and financial technology companies on Wednesday underscored the need for responsible innovation and emphasised the need for ensuring compliance by the entities who are new to the regulatory space. He also said that the RBI would continue to adopt a consultative approach.
The interaction was also attended by RBI Deputy Governors M. Rajeshwar Rao, T. Rabi Sankar and Swaminathan J., along with executive directors-in-charge of payments, fintech and regulation. End
