HYDERABAD - Infrastructure developer NCC Ltd. has emerged as the lowest bidder for a rural water supply project worth INR 9 billion in Andhra Pradesh, a state government source told Informist.

As per the tender agreement floated by the rural water supply department of the Andhra Pradesh government, NCC has to build a drinking water supply network in Palnadu area of Guntur district. The company has to complete the project work in 24 months from the date of award of the project.

When contacted, NCC spokesperson declined to comment on a specific project. "The company was the lowest bidder for several projects in recent months and we can't comment on any specific project until we receive the work order," NCC spokesperson said.

NCC has set a target of securing INR 200 billion–INR 220 billion new orders in 2024-25 (Apr-Mar). On Friday, the company disclosed winning an order worth INR 2.19 billion from a state government for its transportation vertical.

NCC's net profit for the December quarter was INR 1.85 billion on revenues of INR 46.71 billion.

At 1053 IST, shares of NCC were trading down 1.2% at INR 173.10 on the National Stock Exchange.  End
