NEW DELHI – India's goods and services tax collections grew 9.1% on year to INR 1.836 trillion in February, data released by the government Saturday showed. GST collections have fallen sequentially in three of the last four months, including February. 

 

GST collections were INR 1.955 trillion in January, up 12.3% on year and surging 10.5% on month. November and December had registered a fall in monthly collections.

 

Of the total collections in February, Central GST accounted for INR 352.04 billion, State GST was INR 437.04 billion, Integrated GST accounted for INR 908.70 billion, and INR 138.68 billion was from compensation cess. GST revenue, net of refunds, was INR 1.628 trillion in February, up 8.1% on year.

 

Gross domestic GST revenue rose 10.2% on year to INR 1.419 trillion in February, while the import revenue grew only 5.4% to INR 417.02 billion. Refunds during the month rose 17.3% on year to INR 208.89 billion. 

 

In Apr-Feb, GST collections were up 9.4% on year at INR 20.127 trillion. The post-settlement revenues of states rose 12% on year to INR 8.871 trillion in the first 11 months of the current financial year ending March.  End
