MUMBAI – Despatches of Eicher Motors Ltd.'s motorcycles under the Royal Enfield brand grew year-on-year for the sixth consecutive month in February, according to its exchange filing Saturday. 

The overall despatches, including domestic and exports, increased 19% on year to 90,670 units in February. In Apr-Feb, sales increased 9% on year to 908,879 units. Specifically, exports of Eicher Motors' motorcycles grew 23% on year to 9,871 units. This is the least number of motorcycles exported by the company in the last four months. In the first 11 months of the ongoing financial year, exports grew 38% on year to 94,172 units.

Sales of models with an engine capacity of up to 350 cubic centimetres stood at 77,775 units, 17% higher on year. Those exceeding a capacity of 350cc saw despatches increase 33% on year to 12,895 units. 

Eicher Motors reported a consolidated net profit of INR 11.71 billion for the December quarter on revenues of 49.73 billion. Friday, shares of the company ended 3.3% lower at INR 4,773.60 on the National Stock Exchange.  End
