MUMBAI – Jio Financial Services Ltd. and Zomato Ltd. will replace Bharat Petroleum Corp. Ltd. and Britannia Industries Ltd. in the equity market benchmark Nifty 50 index from Mar. 28, National Stock Exchange's wholly owned subsidiary NSE Indices said in a press release. The changes were announced today as part of the semi-annual review of the Nifty equity indices' composition and criteria.
NSE Indices said it decided to add Jio Financial and Zomato to the Nifty 50 because the two stocks meet the criterion of their average six-month free-float market capitalisation being more than 1.5 times that of the smallest Nifty 50 constituents, BPCL and Britannia. The index company said it also considered adding the next two eligible companies, InterGlobe Aviation Ltd. and Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd., but decided against it since their respective free-float market cap was less than 1.5 times that of the two next smallest constituents, Hero MotoCorp Ltd. and Eicher Motors Ltd, after excluding the outgoing constituents, BPCL and Britannia.
In today's review, the exchange's arm reshuffled the Nifty 100 to exclude Adani Total Gas Ltd., Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd., Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Ltd., NHPC Ltd., and Union Bank of India, to include Bajaj Housing Finance Ltd., CG Power and Industrial Solutions Ltd., Hyundai Motor India Ltd., Indian Hotels Co. Ltd., and Swiggy Ltd.
The exchange's arm reshuffled the Nifty 200 to exclude Balkrishna Industries Ltd., Delhivery Ltd., Fertilisers and Chemicals Travancore Ltd., IDBI Bank Ltd., Indian Overseas Bank, JSW Infrastructure Ltd., Mangalore Refinery & Petrochemicals Ltd., NLC India Ltd., Poonawalla Fincorp Ltd., Sundaram Finance Ltd., and Tata Chemicals Ltd., to include Bajaj Housing Finance Ltd., Glenmark Pharmaceuticals Ltd., Hyundai Motor India Ltd., Motilal Oswal Financial Services Ltd., National Aluminium Co. Ltd., NTPC Green Energy Ltd., Ola Electric Mobility Ltd., Premier Energies Ltd., Swiggy Ltd., Vishal Mega Mart Ltd., and Waaree Energies Ltd. End
