MUMBAI – Cyclonic circulation over northeast Assam is likely to cause heavy rainfall over Arunachal Pradesh till Wednesday, India Meteorological Department said Tuesday. The weather bureau has also forecast light rainfall over parts of northeast India over the next seven days.
Another cyclonic circulation over Pakistan and its neighbourhood and an induced cyclonic circulation over southwest Rajasthan are likely to cause light rainfall or snowfall over Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh Tuesday and Thursday, the IMD said.
The meteorological department said another western disturbance is likely to cause light to moderate rainfall or snowfall, accompanied by thunderstorm and lightning, over Jammu, Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand on Wednesday and Thursday. Light to moderate rainfall is likely over parts of Rajasthan, Haryana, west Uttar Pradesh, and central India this week.
The IMD expects maximum temperatures over many parts of northwest, central, and north Peninsular India to be above normal by 2-4 degrees Celsius over the next 4-5 days, but no significant change in either minimum or maximum temperatures is expected over the other parts of India. It sees dense fog continuing in the early morning hours in parts of sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim till Wednesday. End
