Govt extends NITI Aayog's CEO Subrahmanyam's term by 1 year

NEW DELHI – The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has extended NITI Aayog's Chief Executive Officer B.V.R. Subrahmanyam's term by one year, according to a notification from the Centre Monday. Subrahmanyam's term was scheduled to end on Feb. 24.

 

Subrahmanyam, a retired Indian Administrative Service Officer of 1987 batch from Chhattisgarh cadre, had joined NITI Aayog in 2023. He had replaced Parameswaran Iyer at the government think-tank after the latter was appointed as the executive director of World Bank.

 

Before his stint at NITI Aayog, Subrahmanyam had served as the commerce secretary and retired from the ministry in 2022. He had also served as chief secretary of Jammu & Kashmir, and principal secretary in Chhattisgarh government. End
