MUMBAI - Samvardhana Motherson International Ltd.'s consolidated net profit for the quarter ended December surged 62.2% to INR 8.79 billion from INR 5.42 billion a year ago. Analysts had pegged the net profit at INR 8.46 billion. The company's consolidated sales for the quarter was INR 276.7 billion, up nearly 8% from INR 256.4 billion in the year-ago quarter.
