MUMBAI – The National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange Ltd., at its 155 board meeting held on Wednesday, approved the launch of equity and equity derivatives segment based on a feasibility study, the exchange said.
"The exchange will benefit from its entry into the equity and equity derivatives segment as the segment is very large, growing, and offers an opportunity for NCDEX to diversify beyond the agri segment. The diversification is also expected to benefit the agri segment through significant synergies," the release said.
The exchange estimates INR 4 billion-INR 6 billion to be invested in the new line of business.
The board of director of the exchange also approved unaudited standalone and consolidated financial results for third quarter and nine months ended Dec. 31, and noted the limited review report issued by the statutory auditors of the exchange. End
