IMD sees heavy rain over parts of Arunachal Pradesh till Wednesday

MUMBAI – The India Meteorological Department has forecast widespread heavy rainfall over parts of Arunachal Pradesh till Wednesday, and light rainfall and snowfall accompanied with thunderstorm and lightning over parts of Assam and Meghalaya.
A cyclonic circulation lies over northeast Assam and its neighbouring areas in lower tropospheric levels. Under the influence of the these weather patterns, parts of Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, sub-Himalayan west Bengal and Sikkim are also likely to receive rainfall till Wednesday.
Light rainfall and snowfall is also seen over Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad till Wednesday and Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand Tuesday, the westher agency said. Such weather conditions are likely under the influence of a western disturbance seen as a cyclonic circulation over north Pakistan and neighbourhood in lower tropospheric levels.
In terms of temperature, a gradual fall of about 2 degrees Celcius in minimum temperatures is likely over northwest India during the next three days and no significant change is seen thereafter, the weather bureau said. No significant change in minimum temperature is likely over central India during the next 24 hours and a gradual fall of 2-4 degrees Celsius is expected thereafter, it said.
The department sees cold wave conditions in pockets of Himachal Pradesh till Wednesday. Dense fog is likely to pravail in parts of Bihar till Wednesday and Ganjetic West Bengal till Thursday, the weather agency said. End
