MUMBAI – Isolated to scattered light rainfall or snowfall is likely over the western Himalayan region from Saturday to Wednesday under the influence of a fresh western disturbance, the India Meteorological department said.
A cyclonic circulation over Assam and its neighbourhood is expected to bring isolated to scattered light to moderate rainfall, accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning over parts of Arunachal Pradesh and northeast Assam till Friday, the weather department said.
The department expects dense fog to continue during the early morning hours in parts of Himachal Pradesh and Odisha till Saturday. Under the influence of dense fog, the transport and aviation sectors in these regions are likely to be impacted.
The weather agency sees a gradual fall in minimum temperatures by 2-3 degrees Celsius over central India in the next three days, and no significant change during the subsequent two days. In east India, a gradual fall in minimum temperatures by 3-5 degrees Celsius is likely in the next two days, after which no significant change is seen for the subsequent three days.
A gradual rise in minimum temperatures by 2-3 degrees Celsius is expected in Gujarat during the next two-three days, with no significant change thereafter, the weather bureau said. No significant change in minimum temperatures is likely over northwest India and Maharashtra in the next 24 hours, and a gradual rise by 2-3 degrees Celsius in the subsequent four days, the bureau said.
Maximum temperatures are likely to be above normal by 3–5 degrees Celsius over north peninsular and east India during the next four-five days, IMD said.
