--Maruti Suzuki Jan total output 206,851 units vs 204,876 units year ago 

MUMBAI – Maruti Suzuki Ltd. Saturday said it produced 206,851 units in January, up from 204,876 units a year ago. During the month, the company produced 201,984 passenger vehicle units, up from 200,767 in the year-ago period. The automaker produced 4,867 light commercial vehicles in January, up from 4,109 units a year ago.

Earlier Saturday, the company had announced its sales for January. The company's total sales for the month rose 6.5% on year to 212,251 units. This is the highest monthly sales the company has recorded since at least May 2020, according to the data available with Informist. The company's total domestic passenger vehicle sales were 173,599 units, up from 166,802 units a year ago. The automaker sold 4,089 units of light commercial vehicles, up from 3,412 units in January 2024.

The company reported a net profit of INR 35.25 billion for the December quarter on revenues of INR 384.92 billion. On Saturday, shares of the company closed at INR 12,916.50 on the National Stock Exchange, up 4.9% from Friday.  End
