NEW DELHI - The government announced a second asset monetisation plan on Saturday in the Budget for 2025-26 (Apr-Mar). It aims to raise INR 10 trillion under the plan, operational for the next five years.
"Regulatory and fiscal measures will be fine-tuned to support the (asset monetisation) plan," Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said during her Budget speech. The government had unveiled the first asset monetisation plan in 2021 for four years ending FY25, with the aim to unlock aggregate monetisation potential of INR 6 trillion.
Out of the INR 6 trillion envisaged under the 2021 monetisation plan, the government has so far raised INR 3.85 trillion, according to the latest data given by NITI Aayog. End
