IMD sees dense fog over east, northeast India during next 2-3 days

MUMBAI – Dense fog conditions are very likely during the morning hours over east and northeast India during the next 2–3 days, the India Meteorological Department said in a release Friday. Cold wave is likely to continue over parts of Himachal Pradesh till Saturday, and cold day conditions are seen over parts of Bihar during the weekend.
The Met department sees a cyclonic circulation over northeast Assam in lower tropospheric levels, because of which light to moderate rainfall along with thunderstorms is likely over Arunachal Pradesh and northeast Assam Friday.
The department said isolated to scattered rainfall or snowfall activity is likely over the western Himalayan region on Wednesday and Thursday. These weather conditions over the region from Wednesday are due to the influence of a western disturbance.
A gradual fall in minimum temperatures by 2 degrees Celsius is likely over northwest India during the next 24 hours and no significant change will be seen during the subsequent four days. A gradual fall in minimum temperatures by 2-3 degrees Celsius is likely over central India during the next three days and no significant change during the subsequent two days. End
