IMD issues dense fog warning over eastern Uttar Pradesh, Bihar Tuesday

MUMBAI – The India Meteorological Department issued an orange alert in eastern Uttar Pradesh and Bihar for Tuesday as dense to very dense fog conditions are likely to continue. Similar weather conditions are likely to continue over east Uttar Pradesh till Friday, the weather bureau said.
It also said dense fog conditions are likely to prevail during the night and early morning hours in parts of Bihar, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Rajasthan, Odisha, Sikkim, Uttar Pradesh, and Himachal Pradesh during the week. Cold daytime conditions are also "very likely" over parts of Himachal Pradesh Thursday.
Meanwhile, the ongoing wet spell over the western Himalayan region is likely to continue till Thursday and over the plains of northwest India over Wed-Thu, the department said. Isolated-to-scattered rainfall or snowfall is very likely over the western Himalayan region till Thursday and isolated-to-scattered precipitation is likely over Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, and west Uttar Pradesh during Wed-Thu, it said.
Thunderstorm activity is likely over parts of Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Chandigarh, and west Uttar Pradesh Wednesday, the agency said. A gradual rise in minimum temperatures by 2 degrees Celsius is likely over the plains of northwest and central India during the next 48 hours and a gradual fall by 2-3 degrees Celsius may be seen thereafter, it said.
