NEW DELHI – Hyundai Motor India Ltd.'s parent company and TVS Motor Co. Ltd. will explore developing electric three-wheelers and micro four-wheelers, aimed at bolstering last mile connectivity. Hyundai Motor India showcased the concept models of these vehicles at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo in the national capital on Saturday.

The deal is only in the exploratory stage and no binding agreements have been signed yet, Hyundai Motor said. The Seoul-based Hyundai Motor Co. will look at the designing, engineering and technological aspects, while TVS Motor will explore the manufacturing and marketing aspects. Hyundai Motor will explore the viability of rolling out these vehicles in India after the two explore the practicality and potential of these vehicles, and analysing their integration into India's traffic system, the company said.

Hyundai Motor is exploring the possibility of locally producing the electric three-wheeler with TVS Motor in India while exploring global opportunities for the electric micro four-wheeler. These vehicles are aimed as a versatile, eco-friendly option that can serve as a people mover, and as an efficient logistics option or a rapid-response emergency vehicle.  End
