NEW DELHI – Tata Motors Ltd. Friday revealed the internal combustion engine version of the new Sierra at Bharat Global Mobility Expo 2025. The new Sierra's model and design will not be much different from its predecessor, the company said, and added that the car will be available in both internal combustible engine and electric variants. Tata Motors, however, did not reveal the price of the vehicle.
The company also unveiled the electric variant of Harrier--the Harrier.ev. The electric sports utility vehicle is developed in collaboration with Jaguar Land Rover, the company had earlier said. Tata Motors already has electric variants of Punch, Curvv, Nexon, Tiago, and Tigor.
Taking the Avinya concept forward, the carmaker also unveiled the 'Avinya X' concept car. It is an expression of the company's vision of a pure electric vehicle, Tata Motors had earlier said. The carmaker had earlier announced a partnership with Jaguar Land Rover for electrified modular architecture framework for the Avinya series.
Tata Motors also unveiled a range of new commercial vehicles and new variants of existing commercial vehicles. In the heavy commercial vehicle range, Executive Director Girish Wagh unveiled four new vehicles.
The first one is the Prime E55, a tractor trailer with a 55-tonne capacity. Wagh said the Prime E55 is "a battery electric prime mover" which can be used for "logistics operations across multiple end-use sectors." The second heavy vehicle unveiled by Tata Motors is Prime Deep Mining tipper. Wagh said this vehicle will be the "first in the world application of new generation 8.5 litre Cummins engine with auto shift transmission."
"The third product being showcased today is the Prima LNG tractor with highest ever range of 2,400 kilometres addressing India's long haul trucking requirement. This will be a tractor trailer vehicle."
The fourth vehicle unveiled by Tata Motors Friday is the H.28 T ICE, a hydrogen-powered internal combustion engine truck. The company also unveiled a few new commercial vehicles in the intermediate and medium segments, and a couple of buses.
Shares of Tata Motors ended 0.7% higher at INR 779.90 rupees on the National Stock Exchange. End
