NEW DELHI – Jan Suraj Party founder Prashant Kishore on Thursday announced that he was commencing a hunger strike in support of the demands of Bihar Public Service Commission aspirants who have been demanding the cancellation of the preliminary exam held on Dec. 13. Kishore announced he will fast unto death if his demands are not met.
"My demands include cancellation of the exam and holding fresh tests," Kishore told the media.
Hundreds of students have been protesting in Patna against the alleged irregularities in the Bihar Public Service Commission preliminary examination and are demanding the test be conducted afresh. The students alleged that the close-circuit television cameras and jammers had not been functional at several examination centres and that question papers had been distributed late at some locations.
On Monday, Kishore had given a 48-hour ultimatum to Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to resolve the matter and cancel the exam. End
