HYDERABAD – Public sector mining major NMDC Ltd's iron ore sales in December fell 6.7% year-on-year to 3.9 million tonnes due to lower demand for the commodity from steel mills, a company source told Informist. The company's iron ore output in December rose 5% on year to 4.7 million tonnes. 

 

On a cumulative basis, the company's iron ore sales in Apr-Dec were down 0.5% on year at 31.8 million tonnes, while output rose 3% on year to 30.8 million tonnes. NMDC has an annual production and sales target of 50 million tn each for 2024-25 (Apr-Mar). 

 

At 1402 IST, shares of NMDC were at INR 65.94, flat compared to the previous close.  End
