NEW DELHI – The Guwahati bench of the National Company Law Tribunal has approved Peerless Hospitex Hospital and Research Center Ltd.'s INR 1.4 billion resolution plan for debt-ridden Ayursundra Hospital (Guwahati) Pvt. Ltd. Peerless Hospitex Hospital, a subsidiary of Peerless General Finance & Investment Co. Ltd., operates a 500-bed multi-specialty hospital in Kolkata since 1993.

In March, the tribunal had admitted a petition by financial creditor North Eastern Development Finance Corp. Ltd. to start insolvency proceedings against Ayursundra Hospital. The debt-ridden company had admitted claims of INR 1.14 billion from different stakeholders.

Earlier, Ayursundra Hospital had received interest from 15 parties, which further came down to 13 after two applicants were  rejected for non-submission of participation fee. In October, the committee of creditors of Ayursundra Hospital approved Peerless Hospitex Hospital's resolution plan with 100% votes in favour.  End
