NEW DELHI – The government will begin the next round of the Annual Survey of Unincorporated Sector Enterprises from January, shifting to a calendar year from the current Oct-Sept period, a statistics ministry official said.

The Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation Tuesday released the results of the unincorporated sector enterprises survey for 2023-24, which showed that gross value added grew by 16.52% on year at current price during Oct-Sept.

"It has been decided to start the next round of ASUSE (Annual Survey of Unincorporated Sector Enterprises) from January and do a calendar year survey to adhere to international standards," the official said.

The first Annual Survey of Unincorporated Sector Enterprises was conducted during 2021-22 (Apr-Mar), and the second round was held during October 2022 to September 2023. The survey's primary objective is to collect information on operational, financial, and structural characteristics of unincorporated non-agricultural enterprises. The survey results serve as key inputs for policymakers.  End
