NEW DELHI – The Delhi High Court Tuesday issued a notice to Two Star Media Pvt. Ltd. on a petition by Bennett Coleman and Co. Ltd. seeking removal of the trademark registration number made in the name of the latter for the "Live Times" trademark. The high court will next hear the case Apr. 30.
Bennet Coleman is an Indian media conglomerate which runs operations such as The Times of India and The Economic Times newspapers, among others. Bennett Coleman said its trademark "Times" has been used in India since 1943. Two Star Media adopted the trademark "Live Times" by simply adding "Live" to the trademark, said Bennett Coleman.
Two Star Media has a broadcast channel named Live Times TV. Live Time channel's website states that amidst the threats of fake and deep-fake, it endeavours to serve the connected audience across geographies with truth-based news and information. End
