SEBI simplifies documentation process for asset management companies

MUMBAI – The Securities and Exchange Board of India has simplified the documentation process for asset management companies by reducing the time period for scheme information documents to be made available on the website for feedback to 8 days from 21 days with immediate effect, the regulator said in a circular on Friday.
The circular said the format of the scheme information document was revised on Nov. 1 2023 in order to streamline the dissemination of relevant information to investors, rationalising the preparation of the document and facilitating its periodic updation. The requirement of uploading scheme information document for 21 working days on the SEBI website was therefore reviewed.
"Based on review and public consultation, henceforth, SID (scheme information document) on which observations are issued by SEBI shall be uploaded on the SEBI website for at least 8 working days for receiving public comments on the adequacy of disclosures made in the document," the circular said.
