See heavy to very heavy rain over Tamil Nadu, coastal Andhra Wed, says IMD

MUMBAI – A low pressure area over the southwest Bay of Bengal is likely to lead to heavy to very heavy rainfall over Tamil Nadu and coastal Andhra Pradesh on Wednesday, the India Meteorological Department said in a report Tuesday. Similar weather conditions are also very likely over Andhra Pradesh on Thursday, it added.
The weather bureau has advised fishermen not to venture into the south Arabian Sea on Tuesday, in the Gulf of Mannar till Thursday, and in southwest and westcentral Bay of Bengal till Wednesday.
The weather bureau also said a fresh western disturbance is likely to affect the western Himalayan region from Wednesday. It said that cold wave to severe cold wave conditions are likely to prevail over major parts of northwest India during the next 5–7 days. Dense fog conditions are very likely during the late night and early morning hours in isolated pockets of Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, and east Rajasthan during the week.
No significant change in minimum temperatures is likely over the western Himalayan region during the next two days and thereafter, a gradual fall of 2-3 degrees Celsius is expected. No significant change in minimum temperatures is likely over northwest India in the next four-five days.
A rise of 3-5 degrees Celsius in minimum temperatures is likely over central and west India during the next four-five days and a rise of 2-3 degrees Celsius in temperatures over east India is expected during the next three days, with no significant change thereafter. End
