M&M's total automobile output at 80,073 units in Nov, up 14.3% on year

MUMBAI – Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd. Friday said its total automobile production in November was 80,073 units, up 14.3% from 70,070 units a year ago due to a rise in utility vehicle and three-wheeler passenger vehicle production. However, the company's production in November fell 9.3% from 88,250 in October, the company said in an exchange filing.

 

The Mumbai-based automobile company produced 46,340 utility vehicles, up 16.6% from 39,756 units a year ago. In the utility vehicles segment, the company produced 12,337 units of 'Scorpio', up 2.1% from 12,080 units a year ago. In November, the company did not produce the diesel variant of 'XUV300'. M&M had produced 1,586 units of the diesel variant of 'XUV300' in November 2023.

 

The company produced 7,741 units of 'Bolero' in November, down 17.1% from 9,339 units a year ago. The company had launched 'XUV 3XO' in the first quarter of the current financial year. The company said it produced 6,560 units of the petrol variant of 'XUV 3XO' in November. 

 

The company produced 25,453 commercial vehicles in November, up 9.7% from 23,192 units a year ago but down 6.5% from the previous month. M&M manufactured 8,270 three-wheelers, including both passenger carriers and goods carriers, in November. This is 16% more than the 7,122 units produced a year ago. Out of the total three-wheelers produced, the company produced 7,775 passenger carriers, up from 5,827 units a year ago, and 495 goods carriers, down from 1,295 units a year ago. Overall, the company produced 7,623 electric three-wheelers in November, up 30% from 5,852 units a year ago. Earlier this month, the company said it sold 79,083 units in November, up 12% from 70,576 units a year ago.

 

M&M had reported a net profit of INR 38.41 billion for the September quarter on revenue of INR 275.53 billion. On Friday, shares of M&M closed at INR 3,073 on the National Stock Exchange, up 0.1% from the previous close.  End
