MUMBAI – The Reserve Bank of India has increased the limit for collateral-free agriculture loans to INR 200,000 per borrower from 160,000 earlier, RBI Governor Shaktikanta Das said at the conclusion of the Monetary Policy Committee's three-day meeting on Friday.

"Keeping in view the overall inflation and rise in agricultural input costs since then, it has been decided to raise the limit for collateral-free agriculture loans from 1.6 lakh (INR 160,000) to 2 lakh (INR 200,000)," he said. The limit for collateral-free agriculture loans was last revised in 2019, where the limit was increased from INR 100,000.  End
