India's power generation in Nov up 2.67% YoY at 117.80 bln kWh

KOLKATA – India's electricity generation in November rose 2.67% from a year ago to 117.80 billion kWh, but fell 12.23% from the preceding month, data released by the Central Electricity Authority of India showed. In November 2023, total power generation from all the sources stood at 114.73 billion kWh, and in October this year, it was 134.22 billion kWh.

 

Total electricity generation includes the power bought from Bhutan.

 

Thermal power generation rose 0.48% from a year ago to 104.17 billion kWh in November, and nuclear power generation increased 8.55% to 4.80 billion kWh. Hydropower generation increased by 29.97% to 8.61 billion kWh.

 

Total electricity produced in Apr-Nov was 1069.30 billion kWh, up 4.78% from the previous year. The country has set an electricity generation target of 1.66 trillion kWh for 2024-25 (Apr-Mar).
