MUMBAI – Bajaj Auto Ltd.'s total vehicle sales in November rose 5% on year to 421,640 units against 403,003 units in the same month a year ago. Total domestic sales fell 7% on year to 240,854 units and total exports grew 24% to 180,786 in November, the company said in an exchange filing Monday.

 

Bajaj Auto's total two-wheeler sales were 368,076 units in November, up 5% from 349,048 units a year ago. In the two-wheeler segment, domestic sales fell 7% on year to 203,611 units, while exports rose 26% to 164,465 units. The company's total commercial vehicle sales fell 1% on year to 53,564 units. In the commercial vehicle segment, domestic sales fell 5% to 37,243 units, and exports rose 10% to 16,321 units.

 

Cumulatively for Apr-Nov, the company sold a total of 3.22 million units, up 9% from 2.95 million units sold in the year-ago period. The total domestic sales for this period rose 8% on year to 2.01 million units and total exports grew 11% on year to 1.21 million units. Bajaj Auto's total two-wheeler sales for Apr-Nov rose 9% on year to 2.76 million units. Domestic two-wheeler sales were 1.67 million units, up 9% on year, and exports were 1.08 million units, up 11% on year.

 

The company's total commercial vehicle sales in Apr-Nov rose 7% on year to 458,334 units. The company reported domestic sales of 333,199 units of commercial vehicles for Apr-Nov, up 4% on year, and exports of 125,135 units, up 18% on year. Bajaj Auto reported a net profit of INR 20.05 billion for the September quarter on revenues of INR 131.27 billion. At 0939 IST, shares of the company traded at INR 9,158 on the National Stock Exchange, up 1.4%.  End
