Eicher Motors Nov CV sales up 7% YoY at 5,574 units led by light, medium CVs

MUMBAI – Eicher Motors Ltd reported 7.3% year-on-year growth in total commercial vehicle sales in November, led by higher despatches of light and medium duty trucks and buses in India, according to an exchange filing by the company Sunday. The automaker sold a total of 5,574 commercial vehicles during the month, compared with 5,194 units in November 2023 and 7,112 units in October.

 

The New Delhi-based company sells trucks and buses under the Eicher and Volvo brands in India through VE Commercial Vehicles, a joint venture with the Volvo Group. In November, sales of Eicher-branded trucks and buses in the domestic market rose 6% on year to 4,957 units, while exports jumped 33% on year to 402 units. In comparison, total sales of Volvo-branded trucks and buses increased by 5% on year to 215 units.

 

In November, Eicher Motor's domestic sales of light and medium-duty trucks rose 4.7% on year to 2,701 units, and in the same segment, bus sales rose slightly over 38% on year to 844 units. The light and medium commercial vehicle segment contributes the most to the company's overall monthly volumes. Its heavy-duty truck sales fell 5.7% on year to 1,279 units in November, and bus sales declined 5% on year to 133 units.

 

During Apr-Nov, Eicher Motors sold a total of 53,162 commercial vehicles, up 2.6% from 51,802 units in the year-ago period. The company saw a slight improvement in domestic sales, but a strong growth in exports during the period. On Friday, shares of Eicher Motors ended 0.3% higher at INR 4,831.85 on the National Stock Exchange.  End
