NEW DELHI - The Rajya Sabha was Friday adjourned for the day amid repeated demands from the Congress and other Opposition parties to set aside all business and discuss the allegations against Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani and his indictment in the US. The Opposition members also sought a discussion on the unrest in Manipur and the recent violence in Sambhal in Uttar Pradesh.
The Lok Sabha was adjourned till 1200 IST as Opposition members insisted on having a discussion on the above-mentioned issues. The Lower House took up two questions, apparently to register the commencement of the Question Hour.
The month-long Winter Session of Parliament that started Monday has not conducted any major business. All adjournment motion notices served by Opposition members to set aside all business and discuss just these matters were rejected by the chairs in both the Houses. End
