--CONTEXT: BSE announces changes in indices, effective Dec 23 
--Zomato to replace JSW Steel in BSE Sensex 

 

MUMBAI – Food delivery company Zomato Ltd. will replace JSW Steel Ltd. on the benchmark BSE Sensex from Dec. 23, the exchange said in a circular Friday. Asia Index Pvt. Ltd., a subsidiary of BSE Ltd., carries out periodic reconstitution of BSE indices on a semi-annual basis. 

 

Jio Financial Services Ltd., Suzlon Energy Ltd., Adani Green Energy Ltd., Adani Power Ltd., Samvardhana Motherson International Ltd., and PB Fintech Ltd. will be added to the BSE 100 with effect from Dec. 23, the circular said.

 

HDFC Life Insurance Co. Ltd., Bharat Petroleum Corp. Ltd., and LTI Mindtree Ltd. will be dropped from the BSE Sensex 50 and will be replaced by Zomato, Jio Financial Services Ltd. and Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd.

 

In the BSE Sensex Next 50, Zomato, Hindustan Aeronautics and Ashok Leyland Ltd. will be replaced by Adani Green Energy, HDFC Life Insurance, and Bharat Petroleum. Further, P.I. Industries Ltd., IDFC First Bank and Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corp. Ltd. will be replaced by LTIMindtree, Samvardhana Motherson International, and PB Fintech. UPL and APL Apollo Tubes will be dropped and Suzlon Energy and Adani Power will replace the two.

 

No changes have been made to the BSE Bankex Index, the circular said. 

 

In its previous rejig effective June, Adani Ports and Special Economic Zones Ltd. had replaced Wipro Ltd. in the 30-stock index.  End
